Growing Up

I like it when watching babies
Getting up from their small fall
Not knowing what to do
Either to cry or to carry on reaching for the ball
Growing up that's what they do
And so they learn

I like it when watching small kids
Playing hide and seek
Oblivious to their parent's going ons at home
They don't have answers for questions that reeks
Whether there'll be enough to eat tonight
Or them being the voluntary pacifier, physical or otherwise
Growing up that's what they do
And they be told to learn, to wise up

I like it when watching students
Fresh from their big exams
Stepping up to life's demand
For love, lust and pride
Yeah, and they learn alright
For growing up that's what they do
And they started telling their friends to learn, to be wise

I like it when watching everything collides
It gives me somewhat a sense of power
To watch and observe
As if by watching I gain the experience
Alas
It is me who failed to learn
Me at my most cynical
Laughing and watching
When wisdom passed
Right through me
And I yearn to learn to be wise
